Appetite researchers begin work on EU FP7 project 'Full4Health'

Dr Graham Finlayson and Prof John Blundell have been awarded €402k from the EU as part of €9m Large-Scale Integrating Project in response to call number FP7-KBBE-2010-2-2-01 under the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community.

The collaborative project is called Full4Health which is the acronym for a 5 year pan-European collaboration titled - Understanding food-gut-brain mechanisms across the lifespan in the regulation of hunger and satiety for health. The objectives of the research program to commence at Leeds are to identify the features of eating behaviour that generate adaptations in the energy balance system in susceptible and resistant phenotypes in response to regular supervised exercise, and to determine the relationship of these key behaviours to gut hormones, neural activation and energy metabolism.

Contact Dr Finlayson (PI) on g.s.finlayson@leeds.ac.uk or see the website for more details.
